AGDI Dairy farm is a privately owned company registered by the Uganda Registrar of companies that aims at promoting livestock farming for job creation, increased household incomes, and poverty alleviation. The company has permanent offices located at Kyakabunga 10kms on Lyantonde – Rushere road in Kiruhura district and Project offices in Kamwenge and Kyegegwa. The company which started in 2000 specializes in breeding of quality livestock cows, animal feed production, and also offers livestock residential and community based skills training in general management(Herd Health and Management, pasture establishment and conservation, breeding etc),Value addition and business practices(Entrepreneurship and Financial literacy) for farmers targeting youth and women, farmer groups and cooperatives for employment and income security with in the country .So far over 3000 farmers and 2000 youth within and outside Uganda were equipped with skills in livestock management practices and value addition. In 2016, AGDI was registered with DIT (Directorate of Industry Training) to handle Modular assessments as skilling centre. The company was earning approximately UGX 1,000,000,000 gross income per annum before COVID 19 PANDEMIC outbreak from the above mentioned projects. AGDI has established livestock farm stocked with quality breeds for milk and beef production, and goats that generate incomes for the company and surrounding communities. AGDI also grows her own maize and Nappier where silage is processed and fed to the cows and surplus sold to other farmers.
